The Concorso d’Eleganza in Italy, which goes back to the year 1929, is a fixed date in the diary of many celebrities and stars from the world of film and television, as well as for business tycoons, supermodels and other well-known faces. This year once again, numerous enthusiastic fans of classic cars and the proud owners of automotive works of art from all over the world renewed their acquaintance with each other at the automobile rendezvous in the grounds of the luxury hotel Villa d’Este at Lake Como in north Italy.

A. Lange & Söhne, one of the main sponsors of the event, invited 70 VIP guests to an unforgettable and unique weekend in Italy. Those who were privileged to be part of this exclusive event experienced, among other things, a gala dinner by the Italian star chef Gualtiero Marchesi in “Napoleon Bonaparte’s” festively converted villa; a classic car tour along the promenade of Lake Como and then through the typically Italian narrow streets and winding lanes of Tremezzo; a boat excursion in blazing sunshine over the crystal-clear Lake Como in one of the classic Riva boats stocked with champagne for the guests; as well as a watch exhibition in the exclusive Grand Hotel Tremezzo about the history of the company and the founding of the watch factory.

The undoubted highlight of the weekend was the spectacular parade of classic cars, and the presentation of the most varied “concept cars” from the most different luxury brands, followed by the award ceremony in the Villa d’Este for the most beautiful vehicle. A. Lange & Söhne sponsored the highly valued prize for the winner of the most important category – “Best of Show” – with the LANGE 1 ZEITZONE CONCORSO EDITION. This watch was elaborately furnished with a hand-worked Concorso engraving on the reverse side especially for this occasion and is therefore a wholly unique piece. This year, the celebrated winner was David Sydorick, with his Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 from 1932.

The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2015 was once again a wonderful and stimulating experience. And that not only for our guests, but also for the event managers of our event agency that managed this event. We are already looking forward to 2016 when we can once again say: “Ciao bella macchina!” (in English: “Hello, beautiful car!”)
